2009
| Throughout 2008 lots of work went on behind the scenes, and many sailcloth prototype sailcloth windbreaks were produced which our friends were very happy to test! We finally came up with a design that we all felt happy with, and with Diana being a bit of a perfectionist with a keen eye for detail, this was no easy task! Dart Designs was finally launched at the start of April 2009. |

This is the original sailcloth windbreak, made by Diana's Grandmother in 1987!
Made from Neil Pryde Sails' sailcloth advertising banners, provided by one of Diana's windsurfing sponsors, it has been much admired over the years and is still in use today!
This is what started it all. The idea and prototype has been there for decades, and it is great to now be able to design, produce and sell this great product. Why put up with stripy plastic windbreaks that all look the same, when you can have something unique, individual and beautiful that could potentially last a lifetime!
Apologies for the quality of the image – but it is rather old! We think we will leave the clothes in the 80's where they belong, but the Ray-Bans are quite retro and the style is still available today! (Diana still has those too!). |
